This study assessed the readiness of healthcare workers, particularly nurses, in responding to a possible Mpox (Monkeypox) outbreak in Nueva Vizcaya. The main objective was to evaluate their preparedness across four areas: Knowledge and Awareness, Skills and Preparedness, Availability of Resources, and Institutional Support and Response. Using a descriptive method, the researchers surveyed 50 nurses from Dupax District Hospital through a validated questionnaire. Results showed that nurses had a very satisfactory level of readiness, especially in knowledge and awareness, while scores were lowest for resource availability. Significant differences were observed based on Mpox-related training attended, while other demographic factors had no effect. The study recommends improving training programs and providing adequate resources and institutional support to better prepare frontliners for future infectious disease outbreaks like Mpox.
