Abstract

This study explores how new teaching strategies, such as the development of AI tools, individual feedback, and peer interactions, can enhance the performance of Filipino students in IELTS Writing Task 2. There are a number of tasks that Filipino students usually encounter when doing this task, such as considerations of time allocation, producing coherent writing, and vocabulary. For instance, modeling essays, providing students with feedback, and practicing under a time constraint, which have been successful in the past at the moment, can, however, decrease creativity and cause anxiety for learners. The research assesses using AI-based grammar and vocabulary checking tools and software for writing practice in a gaming format as a way of providing feedback in the course of teaching and raising student interest. Also, feedback from peers is presented specifically to strengthen students’ writing by providing collaborative discussions involving critical thoughts. For teachers, the study proposes giving their students more individual attention and using technology to meet the needs of each learner. The stakeholders in the societies are advised to enhance the digital infrastructure, including teachers, and involve them in continuous professional training. Future researchers are suggested to consider the effectiveness of these strategies in the long run and their applicability in other settings. The results of this research suggest that it is possible to improve students’ performance in IELTS Writing Task 2 by integrating technology with student-centered pedagogical methods.
