Abstract

This study employed a qualitative research approach to examine the complex relationship between the implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) technology and its impact on socio-economic development in the Philippines. This study uses a combination of in-depth interviews, focus groups, and content analysis to examine the various aspects of AI integration. It aims to shed light on the potential and challenges that arise within the socio-economic context of the Philippines. The results demonstrate a considerable capacity of artificial intelligence (AI) to stimulate progress in diverse industries, encompassing healthcare, education, manufacturing, and finance, thereby promoting innovation and enhancing operational effectiveness. Nevertheless, the broad use of artificial intelligence (AI) in developing nations like the Philippines is hindered by notable obstacles, including the digital gap, ethical considerations, and worker displacement. Furthermore, the study highlights the significant importance of policy frameworks in influencing the course of AI implementation. It emphasizes the need for comprehensive and future-oriented approaches that prioritize the enhancement of skills, establishment of ethical principles, and ensuring fair and equal access to AI-powered technologies. This study offers significant insights for policymakers, entrepreneurs, and stakeholders by explaining the intricacies of integrating AI into the socio-economic framework of the Philippines.
