Abstract
The study focused on investigating the impact of Modular Distance Learning (MDL) on the Mathematics performance of Primary Learners in Mabini District, Pangasinan. MDL utilizes Self-Learning Modules (SLMs) based on essential learning competencies provided by the Department of Education, offering individualized instruction through print or digital formats. The research analyzed student and school profiles, identified factors affecting Mathematics performance, explored challenges faced by teachers, evaluated coping strategies, and examined the interrelationships among these aspects. Results indicated that student performance was influenced by their attitudes, family backgrounds, resource availability, and teacher readiness. Teachers encountered challenges throughout the MDL process, employing coping mechanisms like well-being strategies and peer mentoring. Recommendations include increased funding for MDL resources, development of comprehensive modules, localization of materials, enhanced parental involvement, and training programs for administrators to enhance the MDL experience. These suggestions aim to enhance the educational experience and support systems within the MDL framework.
